    Description

Seven-Eighths Inch Celluloid Pin Back Of General John J. Pershing "Call". General Pershing was the commander of the American Expeditionary Forces during World War I.  In 1920, there was a movement to draft Pershing for President. While the general refused to campaign for the nomination, he did say he would not decline to serve if the people wanted him. Pershing was a Republican and many of that party's leaders thought Pershing was too aligned with Democratic President Woodrow Wilson. The nomination eventually went to warren Harding. This pin is from that campaign effort. Button is in good to fair condition as the colors are not as bright as they should be. Pin still has its original back paper  from Steiner of St. Louis.
