Description
This is a cast aluminum plaque in the shape of the state of Oklahoma. There is a nail attached in the area of the panhandle. The plaque is embossed: "NAIL FROM FIRST STATE CAPITOL AWARDED FOR PATRIOTIC SERVICE IN PROMOTION OF UNITED STATES SAVINGS BONDS." The BACK is marked: "DONATED BY MACKLANBURG DUNCAN CO. OKLA CITY." I assume the nail is from the Oklahoma State Capitol building that was located in GUTHRIE, Oklahoma. (The capitol moved from Guthrie to Oklahoma City in 1910.) I don't know much about this, other than what is printed on it. I "THINK" these were given to businesses, or individuals, who sold War Bonds during World War II, although U.S. Savings Bonds have been bought & sold even up to today. (The company that donated this, "Macklanburg Duncan Co.", was in business from 1920 to 2000.) The top of the state measures 7 inches long. The condition is EXCELLENT, with only minor wear. It is guaranteed to be old & original, or your money back.I am here to help you with any questions!!!
