RARE 1917 AMERICAN-GERMAN WAR DECLARED-CAMP WADSWORTH MEDAL
THIS RARE 1917 US MILITARY MEDAL -STATES "AMERICAN GERMAN WAR -1917 -DECLARED APRIL 6".
MISSING
THE UPPER SECTION -AMERICAN SPREAD EAGLE...AND THE WORDS "CAMP WADSWORTH".
PICTURED ON THE LOWER PART OF THE MEDAL ARE A PAIR OF CROSSED RIFLES, PAIR OF CROSSED TELESCOPES AND A PAIR OF CROSSED SWORDS..PLUS THE WORDS "DECLARED" "APRIL 6." IN THE CENTER OF THE MEDAL, I AM TOLD, WAS PEWTER WITH GOLD PLATING COIN DEPICTING A UNIFORMED SOLDIER W/RIFLE WITH A BACKGROUND OF TENTS.. ON THE BACK OF THE COIN IS THE "LORD'S PRAYER".. ALSO IS SIGNED "CHWABBS&S CO. MILWAUKEE". CAMP WADSWORTH, LOCATED IN SPARTANBURG, SOUTH CAROLINA - WAS THE TRAINING GROUND FOR TROOPS FROM NEW ENGLAND, INCLUDING THE 15TH BLACK INFANTRY.
MEASUREMENTS: APPROX. 1 5/8" TALL AND 1 5/8" WIDE. BEING SOLD AS FOUND  I AM NOT 100% SURE OF MATERIAL, JUST REPEATING WHAT I WAS TOLD?
