    Description

Reverse is INSCRIBED "STERLING BY BLACKINTON". BLACKINTON WAS ONE OF THE FINEST WWII INSIGNIA MAKERS AND MADE MANY ITEMS FOR ALL BRANCHES OF THE SERVICE. This piece is a cuff pin made for the UNITED STATES PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE (an organization similar to the Red Cross) and worn on the cuff of the dress uniform. The piece has a slight aged patina, is pin back with locking catch and measures approx. 5/8" X 5/8".  Just found, coming out of an old collection recently acquired.
